I grew up traveling with my family and have wonderful memories of our trips together, but it wasn’t until I became an adult that I began to truly appreciate what a gift it is to see the world. My first experience traveling on my own was when I studied abroad in college in Hong Kong. It was so thrilling to be in a completely foreign environment and to this day, it was one of the best experiences of my life. What I love most about traveling is being able to get outside my comfort zone and experience foreign cuisine, architecture and history. I've traveled solo, with family/friends and my husband and always come home with new knowledge and appreciation.
In my adult years, I have traveled to over 30 countries as well as extensively around the US. I enjoy traveling to places especially with elements of nature. My husband and I love to hike, ski and do anything adventurous so a lot of our trips include active components. I live in Austin, Texas and love it but will never turn down an opportunity to travel!
Prior to working for Over the Moon, I worked as a graphic designer and yoga/pilates teacher. I am obsessed with all things wellness and drool whenever I research wellness focused properties and excursions!
How did your journey with OTM begin?
My husband and I eloped in Big Sur and we knew we wanted to do an extended honeymoon. When we first got engaged, a friend of mine who used Over the Moon for her honeymoon sent me the website and I knew right away that Allison and the OTM team were the right fit for us. From every little detail, the team was able to create an itinerary that was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.
Working in travel was something I hadn’t thought about but the amazing experience we had with Over the Moon got me thinking about it. Fast forward a few months, after sending the OTM team countless emails(haha, sorry guys!) Allison offered me a position and the rest is history!
Where was your honeymoon?
We took a minimoon in Big Sur followed by a longer honeymoon in South Africa, Kenya, Seychelles, Dubai and Paris.
What’s your favorite place on earth?
South Africa! What I love about the country is that it has such a variety of landscapes and activity options. From beautiful hikes to stunning wine country and safari, South Africa is the perfect destination for someone looking for an unforgettable adventure.
